HSE Modulo QS is the first and only edger on the market with four processing stations, setting a new benchmark in industrial edging. Thanks to its unique quattro design featuring two rough cut and two finishing stations, up to four lenses are actively cut at the same time. Non-productive times are reduced to a bare minimum with handling, measuring and edging run simultaneously.
The result: 4 lenses are cut + 2 lenses are measured + 4 lenses in transfer =10 lenses are processed at a time.
HSE modulo is the first high speed double spindle edger for fully independent edging of the left and the right lens. Two separate multi-axis systems enable truly independent simultaneous processing of the lenses – no matter how diverse the job requirements. A special feature of the SCHNEIDER edgers is its integrated LMU lens measuring units that provide both blockless handling and integrated quality control. Contrary to other systems, the LMU measures the full map inside the edger. The result is a fully automated quality control before further manufacturing steps occur. Mismatch is avoided, labor is reduced, and process efficiency gains are unmatched.

The full map measurements provided will identify faulty lenses and facilitate go/no-go decisions.
The measurements can also pinpoint potential errors and problems in the surfacing process like worn tools, bad tool alignments, mechanical defects and necessary parameter (process) optimizations, etc.

HSE Modulo and HSE Modulo QS come with an on-board global interface philosophy that allows for connection to the Modulo system.
