Modulo Center 80 – Gets the Job done
Imagine one single machine featuring all the technology to surface 80 lenses/hour, in just 72 sq.ft. This is the new Modulo Center 80.

The all-in-one surfacing center is a full-fledged production line without limitations: individual stations for milling and lathe turning, two double spindle polishing units, and a high-performance laser. To ensure it delivers on its promise, Modulo Center 80 features highly advanced process technology as well as robust and reliable components proven in hundreds of installations across the globe.

An inner ring forms the basis for the smart automation featuring multiple handling systems that swiftly feed the stations. Substantial time savings are won through the machine’s tight integration and by running all processes simultaneously – even milling and lathe turning. The result: There is no faster way to surface a lens end-to-end.

Its’ dedicated Control Center (MES) informs the lab manager at a glance about the current status of the machine, production parameters, and efficiency.

With Modulo Center 80 the jobs are processed in a fully automated environment without any need for operator intervention along the process chain.
Simply put: Blank in, surfaced lens out.

Tight integration, proven components
Modulo Center 80 is virtually four machines in one: a generator, two double-spindle polishers and a laser marker. Even lens washing and drying is fully integrated.

Milling and lathe turning – The two processes are decoupled and form autonomous stations, allowing the center to run the processes in parallel, thereby cutting down production time. For high robustness and uptime, the Modulo Center 80 is equipped with the proven RS-Tec motor.

Polishing – Modulo Center 80 comes with two double spindle polishing units to process up to four lenses at a time. The fast and fully automated tool changing system comprises high-speed handling and a pad magazine efficiently feeding both units for hours of uninterrupted processing. Up to 18 diopters are polished with ease.

Laser Marking – The industry proven PSL laser provides fine engravings with precision for a wide range of marking requirements. The laser stabilization guarantees consistent high-quality results. The unit can be integrated before or after polishing. Special attention has been paid to implementing proven components and reliable process technology. Its process kinematics and parameters have been proven in hundreds of installations. As a result, the center delivers the same high-quality standards as any other SCHNEIDER solution without any limitations.

Fastest results
Modulo Center 80’s tight integration draws the individual stations very close together. Four high-speed handling systems swiftly transfer the lenses from station to station. The result: There is no faster way to surface a lens end-to-end. The intelligent production logic ensures time consuming complex jobs do not slow down overall production speed, as the smart automation allows for bypassing. The handling system feeds the next job to whatever polishing station is available. Variability in polishing time based on material or complexity can be balanced out. The Modulo Advantage
The Modulo Center 80 comes with its dedicated Control Center (MES) informing at a glance about the current status, production parameters, and efficiency. The overview also includes tool wear statistics, errors and alarms, as well as maintenance information. The smart cellphone app provides reports and sends notifications in real-time.
