The SLC 200 centering machine allows, based on digital CNC technology, to manufacture standard as well as complex edge geometries using the bell-clamping-method up to Ø 260 mm. Schneider centering machines allow the clamping of lenses without any marks in the free aperture of the optical surfaces. Thus all lenses can be clamped with standard centering chucks of Schneider. Therefor special centering chucks adjusted to the lens are usually not necessary. This together with the fact that all edge geometries, due to the path-controlled contour processing, are processed with only one tool allows the user a maximum on flexibility and efficiency. Centering of non-rotational symmetric edge geometries as well as centering of lenses which cannot be clamped is possible by the optional laser measuring system.
