SCHNEIDER launches new solutions for deblocking and thinfilm coating at VEW

On October 3rd Vision Expo West opened for the 25th time to showcase the very latest technological advancements and innovations in the ophthalmic industry. 13000 attendees from 89 countries visited the show taking place in the heart of Las Vegas.

Being a regular at the show, SCHNEIDER presented all its newest equipment to the international audience. Visitors had the chance to experience the entire Modulo Line up and running in a real-life lab structure. They were amazed to see how the machine modules of this one-of-a-kind system controlled the production flow themselves to allow for a new level of equipment utilization leading to incredible throughput and substantial cost and time savings.

SCHNEIDER also seized the opportunity to premiere its new solutions for automated deblocking, DBA 2, and excellent thinfilm coating, EBC 900.

The automated deblocker is based on the proven technology developed by Team Henrich & Krall. Team H&K has recently become a member of the SCHNEIDER group and has more than 20 years of experience in the field of smart automated solutions for the optical industry. The DBA 2 deblocks lenses of any material in a matter of seconds, utilizing warm water and thus reduces the danger of lens breakage significantly. Fully automated, it cleans the block pieces and recycles the alloy for immediate reuse in the blocker.

In the coating department SCHNEIDER presented the newest addition to the EBC series –EBC 900 which is the bigger brother of compact electron beam coater EBC 400. Built on solid expertise, the EBC 900 assures high process stability and superior quality in antireflective, mirror, gradient and absorption coating and is the perfect solution for medium-sized and larger Rx labs. Its modular design is upgradeable for higher productivity requirements.
