The newly developed Spheroline centering machine SLC 301 applies new standards in edge- and centering processing of large optics. Todays requirements of precision and lithography optics require high stiffness and precision considering at the same time economic aspects as well as flexible processes. The SLC 301 convince with a new machine concept. Due to the fact that the driving-/axis units in the high stiffness cast iron initiate directly and vibration optimized the pro-cessing forces into the workpiece. The two controlled processing slides independent from each other, can per-form rough- and fine grinding or process serial or parallel every shape of contour and recess processing con-cerning the requirements. The new geometry and technology software SCT enables the comfortable setup of these dual processing steps as well as a maximized flexibility due to free-defineable lens contours considering the extensive technology library. The definition of the geometrical modules and processing parameters is carried out by graphics supported dialog menue technique.

The new CNC-controlled clamping technology with differential measuring technique guarantees a high sensible and fully automated clamping of lenses with minimized setup times.
