For over 20 years, the "Top 100" seal stands for innovation, curiosity and team spirit. On June 27, SCHNEIDER was honored as one of the most successful think tanks in Germany. "Top 100" mentor and TV Journalist Ranga Yogeshwar has honored SCHNEIDER at the German Mittelstands Summit in Essen. The SCHNEIDER GmbH & Co. KG from Fronhausen is now one of the top innovators.

Inventors often encountered skepticism and rejection when their ideas are too revolutionary. This is evidenced by the history of Gunter Schneider. His breakthrough innovation of the so-called freeform processing in the manufacture of optics initially met with much resistance and concerns. Today, his company is one of the world's leading supplier of machines, with which surfaces of spectacle lenses and precision optics are processed. Thanks to Schneider's invention any desired shape of glasses, which is chosen from a medical perspective or by customers’ fashionable preferences can be produced with each individual correction values. The new "Top 100" award winning company has their own sites in the U.S., Brazil, Hong Kong, Thailand and China.

Innovations have a high priority at SCHNEIDER. The innovation processes are lean and efficiently organized in order to implement good ideas as quickly as possible. This is vital for the company, as Gunter Schneider reports: "For us, the time saving is crucial to secure our position as an innovator in the long term."

„The success is based on our own innovative strength and on the success of customers using SCHNEIDER machines in the production process, and thus surfaces of spectacle lenses and precision optics machined precisely and quickly”, reports Gunter Schneider.

"To be innovative means for us not only to develop constantly new machines, technologies or processes. It is crucial for us that our customers can rely on today and in the future always on highly efficient, precise and innovative machines for their production going to have to develop their own competitive position, "said Gunter Schneider.

The jump in the "Top 100" is preceded by a demanding selection. The innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team from the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics have examined the applications.;

„The Top 100 companies succeed in an outstanding way to transform their ideas into market success. That's the hurdle where many other companies fail. The top innovators meet this challenge with a strong team spirit, efficient processes and often with the early involvement of customers and external partners in the development, "says Prof. Franke.
